Marching Forward: Why Great Leaders Never Stop Growing

Writer: Kayla Morse HiggsKayla Morse Higgs

There’s a moment in every leader’s journey where they realize that staying still is not an option. Leadership is not a fixed state—it’s a constant evolution. The world shifts, the needs of teams change, and the challenges we face demand new skills and deeper insight. The best leaders aren’t just experts in their field; they are learners, continuously refining their craft.

This March, I’m taking my own advice. While I spend my days coaching leaders, I know that in order to truly serve them well, I have to keep evolving too. That’s why I’m dedicating this month to sharpening my own coaching practice—deepening my expertise in developing leaders as coaches and becoming certified in Strengths coaching.

Why? Because coaching isn’t just about helping people feel supported—it’s about equipping them with the tools, confidence, and clarity to lead effectively. And as the leadership landscape changes, our approach must change with it.

So, I ask you:

➡️ How are you investing in your own leadership growth right now?

➡️ What’s one skill or area you know you need to strengthen to lead more effectively?

Let’s march forward—together.
